This Privacy Policy explains how the Deadliner app ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to store data locally on your device and, optionally, in your personal iCloud account.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
The App does not:
- Require account registration or sign-in
- Collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
- Use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs
- Track your behavior or usage patterns
- Sell or share your data with third parties for marketing
2. Data Stored on Your Device
All data you create in the App (items, deadlines, categories, photos, notes) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud Sync or use the Export feature.
3. iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud Sync in Settings, your data is synced through Apple's CloudKit service to your personal iCloud account. This data is associated with your Apple ID and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.
4. Voice Input and AI Processing
The App includes an optional voice input feature. When you use it:
- Your voice is recorded locally and sent to a third-party AI provider for transcription and parsing
- The audio recording and transcribed text are transmitted to the selected provider
- We do not store or log your voice recordings
Available AI providers and their privacy policies:
- Groq (default): groq.com/privacy-policy
- OpenAI: openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
- Yandex: yandex.com/legal/confidential
- Custom provider: governed by the provider you configure
You can use your own API key for any provider. If you use your own key, you are subject to the terms of your agreement with that provider.
5. Camera and Photo Library
The App can optionally attach photos to items. Photos are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to any server by the App. If iCloud Sync is enabled, photos may be included in your iCloud backup via Apple's infrastructure.
6. Microphone and Speech Recognition
Microphone access is used solely for voice input. Speech recognition (on-device, provided by Apple) may be used to transcribe your speech before sending it to the selected AI provider. We do not retain audio recordings.
7. Notifications
If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are processed entirely on-device. No notification content is transmitted to any server.
8. API Keys
If you enter an API key for a voice/AI provider, it is stored securely in your device's Keychain. It is never transmitted to us or any party other than the provider you have chosen.
9. Export and Import
The App allows you to export your data as CSV or JSON files. These files are generated locally on your device and shared only through the standard iOS Share Sheet. We have no access to exported files.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
